how to use

add lyrics

type or paste into the lyrics area, or load a .txt file with open text.

schemes and syllables

a scheme is one rhyme pattern you want to track, such as the end rhymes of a verse or a multisyllabic chain. each syllable in a scheme gets its own color. for "open" and "broken", one syllable color marks both "o" sounds and a second marks "pen" and "ken".

marking

press annotate on a scheme. a yellow bar appears with a dot for each syllable; tap a dot to choose which one you are marking, or + to add another.

on a computer, select text with the mouse and it is marked when you release the button. on a phone or tablet, long-press a word, drag the handles to adjust, then tap mark.

the lyrics are read-only while annotating, so a stray selection can't change them. press done or esc to go back to editing.

styles and overlaps

each syllable can be a highlight, an underline, or bold. text marked by several syllables shows all of them: highlights split into horizontal bands and underlines stack.

reviewing and fixing

hover a marked word to outline every word with the same syllable, and click it to jump to its card in the sidebar. remove a single mark with the × on its chip in the sidebar. undo reverts text edits and marking.

saving

nothing is saved automatically. export json keeps the lyrics with all schemes and marks, and import json restores them. save text downloads only the lyrics.
